Tutors

Currently our greatest need for volunteers is in the area of tutors. Many of the children we work with struggle with academic demands and therefore are in need of tutors. Tutors usually work with children and youth for 1 to 2 hour sessions, once or twice a week depending upon the needs of the child. The sessions can include basic reading, comprehension, math skills, sciences, grammar and verbal skills, writing and computers. Our tutors provide academic support, encouragement and attempt to help a child enjoy learning. Volunteers must be comfortable with children and youth and possess a good knowledge base of the subject matter.
