What is confidential?
All client information is treated confidentially.
When the CAS conducts an investigation, it may disclose some information to obtain an informed, professional opinion regarding the welfare of a child or youth, or to gain specific information from a witness.
The CAS will obtain appropriate disclosure consent or consent orders if sharing information if necessary to provide on-going service.
The CAS may present confidential information in court to support any application under the Child and Family Services Act.
What is kept on record?
The CAS is legally required to create and maintain client records. These records account for decisions made and services provided by the CAS. Client records are managed in a manner that always ensures client privacy and are accessible to authorized personnel only.
