Ontario's Children's Aid Societies are not-for-profit agencies that are legally mandated to protect children from physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. Each Society is locally based in order to understand and respond to the specific needs of children and families in their community. The government of Ontario funds each CAS for child protection services where required by law.

Lanark CAS is an active member of the community and recognizes the ongoing need to provide additional services and programs beyond the mandated protection services. These services and programs are essential to the nurturing and welfare of our children and youth. With the help of our community, we raise the money to fund these programs through our fundraising committee 'Together For Kids' and donations from individuals and our community partners.

It indeed does take a community to raise a child. We rely upon an extended caring community and a partnership approach to help provide these services.
